Tenshinkai Dojo Köln
Authentic martial arts Dojo in Cologne
The Dojo is a holy place of spiritual and physical development as well as a home for it’s students, similar to a temple. Martial arts is more than it’s techniques, it is the realization of self. Students and teachers are connected in a respectful and familial manner, a connection that expands to the whole of Europe and to japan as well.
The Tenshinkai Honbu-Dojo in Köln was founded by Luciano Gabriel Morgenstern gegründet. The meaning of the Kanji is:
天 – Ten: Heaven
真 – Shin: True
会 – Kai: Meeting, organisation
天真, the combination of Ten and Shin has many meanings and stands for example for naturalness, purity, from nature. But also for as true as the heavens.
I chose the name to complement the pure principles of true martial arts standing for the never ending way. But also for the everlasting work on yourself to develop your pure and natural being, not only in the Dojo, but anywhere and anytime under heaven.
Our dojo is based on traditional japanese Dojos and offers a training area of about 130 square meters, a Tatami-room, Shoji (traditional japanese paper doors) and much more. The Honbu Dojo is located in Tokyo, Japan.
For the best results in training we have our mirrors only on one side. So that the students can regularly check himself as well as train concentrated by himself, without being irritated by external influences.
Our Tatami-room offers a nice place for taking a resr, refreshment or just to stay together in a nice, authentic japanese ambience. Water, tea and coffee is free for every student and visitor.
The Dojo offers a beautiful open view to our garden, fully equipped with a table and chairs.
The Tenshinkai Dojo in Köln is the Honbu Dojo (central) of the German-wide Tenshinkai Dojos and the Mugai Ryu Europe Organisation.
